Congrats Bryan & Trista!

One of my very BFF's - - Trista - - welcomed her newest addition to her family, Lexi Jo!

Trista and Bryan got married in Cozumel in February 2007 (check out my blog posting for fun pics!) and welcomed a beautiful baby girl on June 27th!

Welcome Lexi Jo! You are blessed with a truly amazing family!! I can't wait to meet you!

Hunter's Hair Chop-chop!

In preparation for football season/practice Hunter got all his hair cut off tonight! He looks so manly with his hair short! I loved it long, but I like it short, too!

The afternoon hap's...

Dayne had her friend, Parker, over for the afternoon today. I took the girls to the pool for a little while, then they came home and sang and recorded themselves singing, dressed up and just acted like little girls!

Visitors from Iowa!

Brad (Iverson) and his wife, Val, and their 18 month old son, Ivan, visited for a few days! Their trip served as a double duty, as they brought Dayne home with them (she had been in Iowa with Nana for a couple weeks). We went to Paradise Park for Go Cart racing and to play video games (Paradise Park is kind of like Chuck E Cheese on the inside and like Airline Amusement Park in Waterloo). Val is going to email me those pics .... when she does I will add some!

Later that day the boys played basketball, then a nice afternoon storm rolled in ...

While we are very happy it isn't us facing the loss of our home, we are saddened for those who are going through this.

How much more can the Iowans take?!?!?

Poor San Souci residents!

Yipes! As glad as we are we don't live in our old house ... our sympathy goes out to the residents of Sans Souci island. The memory of sandbagging and dealing with all the headaches of the flood are still vivid for us!



Things don't look good for the coming days either, as the river is expected to rise more. Even higher than in 99 and in 93. Last update was that the residents were intentionally filling their basements with water to keep it pressurized.



Gretchen is so sweet - - she spent several hours tonight helping sandbag the area in efforts to keep the water at bay. Doesn't look like it will be enough though. : (
